The study on the relationship of social networking and shopping has been conducted by Knowledge Networks. The study confirms the popularity of social media services, but sees shopping and seeking for product information not as a primary intention. Just 4% of social media users are seeking for shopping related information. But a critical annotation might be useful here. The study researched the behavior at social networks with general content and not verticals like social shopping sites.
