A study by Deloitte, Beeline Labs and the Society for New Communications Research has examined the use of social media in the enterprise. The precise subject of the study has been the usage of social networking communities operated by companies for the purpose of internal and external communications.

Key results are a strong acceptance and evaluation of social media elements used in the enterprise, which are manifested by the statement of 94 % of the surveyed enterprises to invest in social networking applications.
