The market research firm MRSI conducted a survey on behalf of the mobile solution provider NAVTEQ regarding the acceptance and success of local oriented mobile advertising related to retail business.

The survey showed, that 19 %, which seems to be a large number, of consumers seeking for local information about retail stores have clicked through an advert and that 6 %, which seems to be a large number, too, have visited a retail store based on the information provided by a mobile ad.

The adverts have been delivered to users of gps phones by using contextual and demographic targeting technologies.
