Open Standard on Link and Media Sharing
OExchange is an initiative on the standardization of sharing processes across networks and websites with specifications to all participants, service providers, publishers and developers of applications. The service aims to solve the problem of different standards at particular networks, which mostly require to develop specific sharing functions for particular api interfaces. The OExchange standard enables to bypass such proprietary specifications and enables easy sharing across all networks and of content by all publishers, who integrate the standard.
Further information is available by the article Introducing OExchange: An open protocol to simplify sharing by the Google Social Web Blog. All specification of the standard are available at the OExchange homepage. Below is an introductory video.
