Paid apps by the devotees of the paid model might have been seen as the long awaited opportunity to finance content. Whereas paid apps still work well on mobile devices a shift towards in app advertising began. According to a study by Flurry the share of the revenue generated by in app advertising will grow from 18 % to 23 % with the bulk of revenues by 60 % still coming from paying for apps.
