Reuters has released its Digital News Report 2013 and provides the study to download for free. The study surveyed the news consumption within eight countries worldwide and found significant differences. An example of the different behavior worldwide is the consumption of news provided by newer sources like the Huffington Post. Such sources are accessed by 66% of news readers in Japan and by only 18% in Denmark.
But there are general trends as well, the consumption of digital news in general and across various devices. As to be expected people do shift to digital forms and do expect news to be accessible on different devices and do practice already the access on different devices. Another trend is that people want more control over the time when they access the news.
