HTML5 is an official W3C Standard now

Within its current newsletter the W3C has given the latest HTML version the status of an official standard. HTML5 formerly has been in use already, but developers worked with various and individual adjustments. By the status of being an official standard now all sites both developers of websites and e.g. browser developer now have reliable conditions to to work with HTML5: HTML5 is a W3C Recommendation.

Furthermore the W3C has launched another interesting working group lately, which has the potential to be most far reaching. The term potential is used, because this working group has a wider reach than concerning software and web standards. It is about the integration of payment into the open web platform and by this it does affect a completely different and of course strong industry: W3C launches Web Payments Initiative.
