Mobile Versions of Blogs and Newsfeeds

Mobile versions of blogs and newsfeeds are useful because of the reach of the mobile web as well as to deliver mobile versions for readers, who do not have or use a mobile feedreader. Furthermore some services do offer options to promote mobile versions by own mobile directories or do offer another way for monetization.

The first service is Mippin. Establishing a mobile version is easy and may happen in a couple of minutes. This happens by submitting a blog or feed url into a mobile site generator. At the second step there is the customization of the design and at the third step the option to monetize a mobile version. To participate in monetization an account at the mobile advertising network admob is necessary, but there is no need to do so. Here is an example of the emediablogger blog: mippin.com/emediablogger

Too, Mobi Feeds enables the easy mobilization by using a mobile site generator, where an url needs to be submitted. There is no option to customize the look, but mobile versions are comfortable and there is a directory of mobilized sites. Example: mobifeeds.net/emediablogger

Last but not least there is FeedM8. Mobilization happens by just one step. What is not nice is an ad message at the top of every page, which looks most similar to the content. An advantage of the service is to be able to send the mobile url by sms.
