Google has launched an already rumoured cloud storage service to host files and access them from anywhere. Being just launched the services already is equipped with a lot of features.

By integrating Google Docs exemplarily the service enables to collaborate on documents and furthermore typical sharing functionality is integrated. Further features are expected to be added soon as Google Drive provides an api to enable third party developers to create further apps for video editing and the like. Of course great search tools are integrated even to search for hand written stuff by optical character recognition (ocr) technology.

Access to the service is enabled via the web and via mobile devices and regarding the latter up to now an Android app is provided. The service has various pricing plans with up to 5 GB of storage for free.
